I do hear some noise from the speaker when I switch modes but that's it, only as I am turning the switch. I don't even hear the marker signal when the Mic gain is set to Cal. I have an 830S with no receive at all, not even static. While I'm waiting for my RF signal generator to arrive I was hoping somebody could point me in the right direction. If rig comes alive then L41 antenna step up xfmr is bad. You can also touch the center pin of  your antenna coax connector here. Do this on 40 meters with RF gain wide open. On the 2nd or back solder lug connect a jumper lead and touch other end with your finger. You will see 2 vertical solder lugs on it with nothing terminated on them. Look down at the RF board and note 3 air variable capacitors.
